Kochi: A massive fire broke out at Brahmapuram waste treatment plant leading to the formation of thick smoke in the area. According to reports, the Kochi Corporation's treatment plant caught fire on Tuesday afternoon and fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
The fire reportedly spread through the garbage dumping yard. A total of 18 fire fighting units from various fire and rescue stations worked in tandem to bring the fire under control.
However, they could not douse the fire completely. The smoke also spread to the neighbouring residential areas causing serious health issues to the residents.
