Ernakulam: A family of four, including teenage children, have been found dead at Chelamattam, Perumbavoor in Ernakulam District of Kerala, here on Thursday.
Biju (46), his wife Ambili (39), and the couple’s children Adhithyan (15) and Arjun (13) have been found dead in their house. The children’s dead bodies were found in the hall, while the couple were found dead in their bedroom.
In the preliminary investigation, the Police suspect it to be a suicide over mounting debts. A suicide note from the family has also been found from the house. On the walls inside the house, it was found to be written ‘not to let (their) relatives inside the house as the souls won’t rest in peace’.
After conducting a chit fund scheme, the family has been reeling under severe financial difficulties. Those whom the family owed money were all told that they would be paid on December 31. The name and all details of those who caused the financial liability to the family and those who owed money to the family were all written in the dairy found from the house. Biju had called up and told those whom he owed money to reach his house on Thursday morning.

The Police team has begun the investigation in the case. The Police would also probe if there were any other possible reasons for mass suicide. After completing the necessary procedures, the dead bodies have been taken to Kalamassery Medical College Hospital for post mortem.
