Dollar smuggling case: Customs serves notice to K Ayyappan for interrogation

The Customs dept has summoned Kerala Assembly Speaker’s additional private secretary, K Ayyappan, for interrogation in the dollar smuggling case. The Speaker’s office has come under the Customs scanner considering the key accused Swapna Suresh’s statement that the money she got as commission including that in Life Mission, was converted into dollars and taken to the Airport in the Consulate’s official vehicle.

Thiruvananthapuram:The Customs dept has summoned Kerala Assembly Speaker’s additional private secretary, K Ayyappan, for interrogation in the dollar smuggling case.

Customs served Ayyappan a notice to be present at the Kochi Customs Office for the interrogation at 10 am on Wednesday.

Though the Customs investigation team had expected him to present himself before them on Tuesday, he did not turn up and said he has not got any notice from the Customs.

The Speaker’s office has come under the Customs scanner considering the key accused Swapna Suresh’s statement that the money she got as commission including that in Life Mission, was converted into dollars and taken to the Airport in the Consulate’s official vehicle.
