CPM worker stabbed to death in Kayamkulam

Months after a CPM worker was shot dead by motorcycle-borne armed criminals in Khagaria district of Bihar, another party worker Vaidhyan Veetil Tharayil Siyadh has been stabbed to death by local goons at Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district on Tuesday night. The body is kept at mortuary of Haripad Taluk Hospital and a case of murder has been registered at Kayamkulam police station.

Alappuzha: A CPM worker was stabbed to death by local goons at Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district on Tuesday night.

No sooner after the attack, the worker - Vaidhyan Veetil Tharayil Siyadh - was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

It is being said that the police are on the lookout for the gang leader who is accused in several cases, in connection with the incident.

The body is kept at mortuary of Haripad Taluk Hospital and a case of murder has been registered at Kayamkulam police station.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.

This incident was reported months after a CPM activist - Radhe Singh was shot dead by motorcycle-borne armed criminals in Khagaria district of Bihar on June 4. The incident had taken place when Singh was returning home at Nirpur from Tilai Chowk on his bicycle.

Earlier, in a similar incident on May 12, Jagdish Chandra Basu, who has unsuccessfully contested Lok Sabha election on the ticket of CPM, was shot dead by some armed criminals near Lootna village under Alouli police station in Patna.
