Thiruvananthapuram: A study conducted by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has revealed that the COVID transmission in seven districts of Kerala is very critical. As per the study, there has been 200 per cent to 300 per cent rise in the number of COVID patients in Kannur, Palakkad and Kollam districts of Kerala in the past one month.
In Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode and Thrissur districts, the increase is around 200 per cent in comparison with the earlier rate of transmission. The IMA - Kerala chapter also cautions that the number of persons who might contract the disease in the coming days may increase at the rate of 300 per cent.
In Kannur district, there were only 928 COVID 19 patients on August 29. As on September 26, the district has 3252 COVID positive cases marking a rise of 294 per cent.
