Thiruvananthapuram:Covid cases in Kerala will decline within ten days says a government report. The report was discussed during a meeting with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday. Celebrations during Onam, Muharram festivals have pushed the Covid cases to 24%, the report further stated.
Considering the surge, it is estimated that fresh Covid cases reported per day would escalate to 40,000, however, in 10 days the situation will improve. The review report in a respite stated that during these days, the cases will decline significantly. The government's estimation is based on increased inoculation. As most of the elderly above the age of 60 have received vaccines, critical conditions can be prevented.
Health infrastructure would not reel under an uptick in cases. The health department is hopeful of containment by making stringent restrictions and ramping up vaccination.
