Malappuram: Kerala has been presenting a model for the world through the ways it adopted in combatting COVID-19 pandemic. Little children's good-heartedness and willingness to part with their savings to help the State in the fight against a pandemic, that has practically restricted them a lot, is overwhelming.
Such gestures from the children, however little their contributions are, gives great strength for the State in the battle for life and livelihood in times of COVID-19. All the small and big contributions made to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) do come to aid in the process.

Muhammed Imran and Rafa Fathima from Malappuram, are two such kind-hearted children who contributed their 5 years of piggy bank savings, Rs 3235, towards the CMDRF.
Students with Malappuram Cherukara MIC School, in fourth and second standards respectively, Muhammed Imran and Rafa Fathima reached the Taluk Office directly and handed over their contribution to CMDRF to Perintalmanna Tahsildar P T Jafferali. The Tahsildar, in turn, gave the children sanitisers as thank you gifts.
Besides the children's grandfather, Anamangad Village Office Field Assistants K M Gafoor, U Ajayan, and Sathar Anamangad were present.
In a relief to Kerala, no COVID-19 cases were reported on Friday after witnessing a slight spurt in the past few days, as the hotspots jumped to 80. So far, 392 people have been treated for the infection and discharged and 102 people are presently undergoing treatment in various hospitals,21,499 people under observation,including 432 in various hospitals.
