New Delhi: Central Government has announced emergency financial assistance to the state of Kerala for the prevention of Covid-19. The Centre has today sanctioned Rs 267.5 crores to Kerala for Covid-19 prevention activities. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavya, who is in Kerala to review the state's Covid prevention activities, announced the emergency assistance after a meeting with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The amount was allocated from the second Covid package.

An amount of Rs 1 crore has been allotted to each district for the medicine pool. The Center of Excellence will be set up to strengthen the telemedicine system. The Health Minister also said that a plant with a storage capacity of 10 kiloliters of medical oxygen would be set up in all district hospitals. The Union Health Minister also praised the Covid-19 preventive measures and vaccine distribution in Kerala. The central team that arrived in the state has assured of maintaining the vaccination supply.
