Thiruvananthapuram:The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Court on Monday rejected the bail plea moved by the accused woman who was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting her teenage son in Kadakkavoor.
While dismissing the bail plea, the Thiruvananthapuram POCSO Court observed that the prosecution allegations cannot be denied. The Court said, the case presented by the prosecution is believable, and granting bail to the accused woman at this juncture may affect the investigation of the case.
The woman’s family is to move the higher court with an appeal. The woman’s kin alleges that the case is framed against her as revenge as she was against her husband’s second marriage. Her relatives had already complained against the fake case charged against her.
Meanwhile, a team, led by I G Harshitha Attalloori, has started investigating the case. The counselling report which came to light on Monday was against the claims made by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairperson against the police investigation team.
