Ballari (Karnataka):BJP MLA Somasekhara Reddy courted controversy as he made a veiled threat to the anti-CAA protesters from the minority community, warning them that they are just "17 per cent" of the population, here on Friday.
The MLA was speaking at a pro-CAA rally According to reports, Reddy made the comments while addressing a pro-CAA and NRC rally in Ballari on Friday. During his speech, the BJP legislator 'cautioned' the anti-CAA protesters, saying that it was only 5 per cent of the people, who turned up at the pro-CAA rally.
He added that if the anti-CAA protests continued, the entire 100 per cent (pro-CAA) population would come out.

The legislator then went on to attack the Congress, and once again 'warned' the anti-CAA protesters.
"The Congress bewakoofs (idiots) are lying to you. You are believing them and coming out to protest. Hey, we are 80%! But you are just 17%. Once think, if we stand against you, what will your situation be? Be mindful of this if you want to stay in this country," he added, inviting loud cheering from the gathering.
Later in the speech, Reddy said, "This is my country. When I die, at my funeral, even the smoke from my dead body will say BHARAT MATA KI JAI."
The BJP Legislator also claimed that the Pakistani Hindu women were facing sexual harassment, and the CAA was implemented to provide citizenship to such people.
