WATCH: Elderly woman miraculously survives as train passes over her

An elderly woman had a lucky escape in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district as she came out unscathed after a train passed over her. She was attempting to cross the track when she slipped and fell.

Kalaburagi (Karnataka): In what could be termed as a miraculous escape, an elderly woman survived after a train passed over her while she was attempting to cross the tracks at a station in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district.

According to reports, the woman identified as Maanibaayi Chandar, was attempting to cross the tracks at Chitapur Railway Station, when she slipped and fell down, with a goods train approaching the platform at a high speed.

However, it was too late by then as the train passed right over her. The woman though, survived due to her presence of mind, as she lay low close to the ground as the train passed over her.

People at the adjoining platform were also seen shouting instructions, asking the woman to stay as low as possible until the train completely passes over her.

A deeply shocked Maanibayi was then swarmed by the people who were left stunned by her miraculous escape.

She was then rushed to the hospital, but fortunately, was discharged soon enough as she did not suffer any injuries.
