Bangalore: Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly, Siddaramaiah has expressed his outrage against the Uttar Pradesh government over its handling of the Lakhimpur incident. He alleged that a Union Minister's son ran over protesting farmers while the police resorted to firing. Siddaramaiah demanded the minister's son should be arrested for taking law into his own hands and the minister should resign from his post.
Talking about the arrest of Priyanka Gandhi, former CM said that she went to Lakhimpur to console the farmers, but the police arrested her. The senior leader alleged that opposition leaders have unconstitutionally been blocked from visiting the victims.
The government should act in a democratic manner and not in a dictatorial fashion, Siddaramaiah outraged, "The UP government should be called as goon government. Priyanka Gandhi should be allowed to go to the spot," he added.
