Bengaluru:The lockdown in containment zones has been extended till July 31, Karnataka government's chief secretary and head of state disaster management authority TM Vijayabhaskar informed.
The new guidelines are applicable immediately and will remain in effect until July 31. The BBMP commissioners, district superintendents of police, police superintendents, city police commissioners and other department heads have been instructed to step up efforts in order to curb the spread of the virus.
Unlock 2.0:
According to the unlock 2 guidelines, all activities will be permitted in areas outside Containment Zones, except schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions which will remain closed till July 31.
While online and distance education will continue to be encouraged, state and central government training institutes can start operating from July 15 as per the instructions of DOPT and DPAR.
The activities not allowed as per the order are, "International air travel of passengers, except as permitted by MHA. Metro Rail, Cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places. Social/political/sports/entertainment/academic/cultural-religious functions and other large congregations."
Night Curfew:
The statewide night curfew will be in effect from 8pm to 5am.
"Movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 8.00 pm to 5.00 am throughout the State, except for essential activities, including operation of industrial units in multiple shifts, movement of persons and goods on National and State Highway/Major District Roads, loading and unloading of cargo and travel of persons to their destinations after disembarking from buses, trains and airplanes," the order read.
