Ballari(Karnataka): A private school located on the outskirts of the mining town Ballari here, is making its contribution to Prime Minister Narendra Modi' ambitious plan of eradicating single-use plastic in a unique way.
The Dreams World School has made a step forward by banning the use of tiffin boxes and water bottles made of plastic in its premises.
Students and teachers of this school have not been using plastic products for the last three years.
This move of the school has now begun to receive appreciation from parents as well as the general public.
Items made of plastic are banned in the premises of this school in Ballari. Situated on the Kappagal Road, students of this school bring tiffin boxes and bottles made of metal and eat in groups daily. This, they say is their way to promote a healthy environment.
Surprisingly, the students are not allowed to bring chocolates and other eatables wrapped in plastic covers to the school even on their birthdays or any other special occasion.
The school might not have a huge building or a lot of funds, but it has surely set an example before everyone.
It is a message for people on how despite having a lack of much resources, they can still make a contribution in making the environment more survivable.
