Hassan (Karnataka):A 34-year-old police sub-inspector allegedly committed suicide at his official residence over the anxiety of losing the job in Karnataka's Hassan on Friday morning.

According to the initial reports, SI Kiran Kumar was posted at Channarayapatna rural police station, where two alleged murders took place in his Jurisdiction within a gap of 10 hours on Thursday. He was upset after news of the two murders due to alleged negligence of the police spread on social media.

As per his colleagues, he was also feeling loomed as the locals warned him that they would protest in front of the legislature house if the victim will not get justice within 24 hours.

"The cop had also participated in a raid on Thursday late night. When the other case of murder emerged within 24 hours in the area, he got scared. When he came to the police station early in the morning, he said that a special investigative team would visit our police station in order to assess the law and situation in the area. He stayed at the police station for a while and left for his residence in the wee hours of Friday, saying he might lose his job. After an hour, we got the news that he committed suicide at his residence", said a police constable posted at the same police station.

Meanwhile, the police have registered an FIR in the case and the exact reason for his alleged suicide is yet to be ascertained.
