Mysuru (Karnataka): Mysore has adopted a new way to clean the sewers with the help of Robot. Bandicoot, a semi-automatic robot, is the new one to clean the city’s sewers.
The semi-automatic robot was developed in Pune and the Mysuru is the first to adopt this system of cleaning sewers in the state. Bandicoot will replace men in sewers to eliminate manual scavenging. The 1.5 m tall semi-automatic robot weighs around 80kg and can travel up to a depth of 20 meters. Bandicoot is time and labour-efficient. It can clean a sewer in 20 minutes that otherwise takes 3 to 4 hours to manually clean.
