Sculptures outside Mysuru railway station sport face masks

In order to make the passengers aware of the mandatory precautions to be taken while travelling in COVID times, a set of six sculptures, depicting railway passengers, placed outside the premises of Mysuru railway station sported face masks. This was following the South Western Railway announcement to partially resume the intrastate services.

Mysuru (Karnataka):A set of six sculptures, depicting railway passengers, placed outside the premises of Mysuru railway station sported face masks to spread awareness on coronavirus and on importance of wearing face masks while travelling.

This comes after the South Western Railway (SWR) announced to partially resume the intrastate services from May 22.

According to a notification issued by the SWR, two special trains, Bengaluru- Hubballi and Mysuru-Bengaluru, started on Friday.

However, Railways has directed that only asymptomatic passengers would be allowed to board the train and they have to adhere to health protocols as are prescribed by the destination state.

SWR has so far run 90 Shramik Special trains to help migrant workers, students and families return to their hometowns, in different parts of the country after the relaxation of Lockdown in Karnataka. Seven more Shramik Specials are scheduled to leave from Karnataka to Bihar (3), Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Tripura later tonight.
