Sandalwood movie producer succumbs to COVID-19

Sandalwood actor and producer D S Manjunath (Arjun Manjunath) died due to COVID-related complications on Sunday. Arjun Manjunath had produced two Kannada movies Chemistry of Kariyappa and Samyuktha- 2. Another movie that he co-produced 0% Love was slated for release on June 22, his birthday.

Bengaluru:Sandalwood actor and producer D S Manjunath (Arjun Manjunath) died due to COVID-related complications on Sunday.

Arjun Manjunath had produced two Kannada movies Chemistry of Kariyappa and Samyuktha- 2. Another movie that he co-produced 0% Love was slated for release on June 22, his birthday.

Krishnamurthy, who is one of the producers of 0% Love, told ETV Bharat that Arjun was unwell for the last few days. Last week, he was admitted to hospital as he suffered a blockage in the lungs and faced difficulty in breathing. As his condition deteriorated, he was put on ventilator support where he died due to a heart attack. Krishnamurthy said Arjun showed symptoms of COVID-19 earlier, too. However, he had ignored them.

Speaking about his humanitarian side, Krishnamurthy said during the lockdown, Arjun had distributed food kits to at least 5,000 people. He had also helped North Karnataka flood victims. His funeral will be held in Doddageri burial ground.
