Bengaluru (Karnataka): The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing the bail plea of Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi, who was arrested in the Sandalwood drugs case, to January 21.

Ragini (30), was arrested by the CCB for her alleged connection in drug peddling and consumption as well as hosting a rave party in Karnataka.

The actress was arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru on September 4, last year, following which she was booked under provisions of the NDPS (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act and Indian Penal Code (IPC) Act, for her alleged involvement in the drugs case.

The police had launched a crackdown on the drug traffickers, peddlers and consumers after the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested three people from Bengaluru with drug haul last year.

The trio had told the NCB sleuths that they were supplying drugs to Kannada film actors and singers.

Dwivedi, whose family hails from Revari in Haryana, was born in Bengaluru. She made her debut in the Sandalwood with the movie ''Veera Madakari'' in 2009.

She shot to fame for her role in Kempe Gowda, Ragini IPS, Bangari and Shiva.
