Banglore (Karnataka): Retired IAS officer and Congress leader Syed Zameer Pasha (67) passed away at his residence in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening.
The bureaucrat-turned politician held senior positions in various departments of the Karnataka government.
He served as Managing Director of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation, Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department and was involved in implementing the recommendations of the Sachar Commission in Karnataka.
He entered politicals after his retirement and unsuccessfully contested the 2018 Assembly elections from Kolar on Congress ticket.
