Pushing mother around on wheelchair, young girl in pursuit of missing brother

Young Fatima, who had come to Karnataka from Chennai with her family in search for work, has now been left stranded due to the lockdown with no money. To make matters worse, the girl's brother went missing a month back, following which she has been searching for him on foot with her mother on a wheelchair.

Kolar (Karnataka): With the coronavirus-induced lockdown affecting migrants across the country, one such family, which had come to Kolar from Chennai, is now struggling for survival with their son missing.

With her brother missing, young Fatima has now taken over the responsibility of pushing her mother around in a wheelchair. Her mother had unfortunately lost her leg during some work and is now confined to a wheelchair.

The family had come to Bangarapete taluk of Kolar district from Chennai around three months back in search of work. However, when the lockdown was imposed, the family was left stranded with no source of income.

Fatima's brother then started taking up odd jobs and even had to resort to begging in order to feed his family.

However, things went from bad to worse for the family as Fatima's brother went missing around a month back. Young Fatima then scoured the entire town of Bangarapete but to no avail, as her brother was nowhere to be found.

Recently, Fatima got to know that her brother was in Kolar, following which the young girl covered the over 15-kilometre distance from Bangarapete on foot, pushing her mother on the wheelchair.

However, when the mother-daughter due reached Kolar, they could not find Fatima's brother anywhere. To make matters worse, they do not even have a picture of him.

With no money even to feed themselves, young Fatima is having an extremely tough time on the road in pursuit of her missing brother.
