Karnataka: Khan Saab Gudagude, a native of Koujalagi village of Gokak taluk, Karnataka who received a govt appointment order in 1995 has been waiting for more than 23 years to get his dream fulfilled. Khan aspired to be a teacher and had completed a Teacher Certificate Higher (TCH) course with Secondary School Leaving Certificate(SSLC) qualification.

Official apathy leaves this Karnataka man in a spot

Due to an unsought negligent error by the government officials, Khan has to earn a living by being a daily-wage worker besides waiting for the administrative mistake to be redressed. He was mistakenly appointed for Urdu subject instead of Kannada.

Khan approached Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) in Belagavi to get his voice heard but to no avail. He then moved to the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) in 1997 after being fed-up with delay tactics of the education department to issue his appointment order.

However, KAT ordered Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) in Belagavi and the education department to issue appointment order to Khan within 15 days. Furthermore, he submitted the KAT's order to DDPI, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Suresh Kumar and a copy of it to Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Dr. S.B. Bommanahalli. There was no action taken from any of the parties and his matter was left unaddressed.
