Marijuana chocolates seized in Bengaluru

The police that are on high alert in the wake of the unearthing of the sensational Sandalwood drugs network said that it is for the first time such chocolates were seen.

Bengaluru: The city police have seized marijuana chocolates that were being sold for Rs 50 per piece in large numbers at a Beeda shop in Subramanyanagar.

The police that are on high alert in the wake of the unearthing of the sensational Sandalwood drugs network said that it is for the first time such chocolates were seen.

They alleged that the drug chocolates - made to resemble chocolate that the children eat - were being sold to college students, young men and women in a shop and is supplied from Uttar Pradesh to Bengaluru.

A team led by the Joint Commissioner of the Northern Division Nagarajappa raided the shop where marijuana chocolate was available and seized 2.2 kg of marijuana chocolate from there. However, shop owner Gulab Yadav managed to flee the spot.

Excise Department Officers are now raiding the area.
