Netizens are deeply moved by the photo of a father holding an umbrella for his daughter as she is forced to leave the house to get connected to the internet during heavy showers.

Dakshina Kannada:The photo of a man holding an umbrella for his daughter while she attends an online class on the roadside has become a hit on social media. Netizens are deeply moved by the father's effort in supporting his daughter's studies. The affectionate gesture has also led to discussions over network issues in Dakshina Kannada.

Due to a mobile network issue, the student was forced to come out of her home to get connected to the internet during heavy rain. Listening to her lesson after downloading the text, she remained undeterred in the attending class, as per sources.

Sources said the incident is not rare, rather a common scene in the area. More than 20 students reach the hilltop to attend online classes. A parent said if they sit at home with no network and signal, the students' future will be ruined.

The network issue has been a major problem in several rural areas including Sulia and Kadaba taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. Even though several meetings have been held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport S. Angara, the problem is not yet resolved. People have also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking grievance redressal, according to sources.

Worsening the prevailing network issue in the area, heavy rain wreaked havoc during the last two days in Dakshina Kannada. Local residents are periled as their livelihoods are affected. Students have been struggling to attend online classes during incessant rain. Incidents of trees being uprooted, damages to houses and electric poles and loss of mobile network have been hitting headlines, as per reports.
