Bengaluru:Karnataka is observing a total Sunday lockdown -- second of the total five -- to fight the coronavirus pandemic as part of Unlock 2.0, shutting everything except essential services, an official said on Sunday.
Apart from relaxations to essential services and activities, marriages already fixed can be solemnised during the Sunday lockdowns.
The southern state is also observing night curfew daily from 8 pm to 5 am, except for essential services.
Effectively, Bengaluru is observing its second 33-hour lockdown, starting with the night curfew, followed by the Sunday lockdown, beginning from at 8 pm on Saturday.
"Curfew will prevail in Bengaluru city commissionerate from 8 pm on Saturday to 5 am on Monday. Requesting all Bengalureans to cooperate and stay home," said Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao.
