K'taka: Student dies after being hit by sickle in road accident

A 20-year-old engineering student died on the spot after being hit by sickle in a road accident in Karnataka. Police said that the locals found the girl lying in a pool of blood following the accident.

Kalaburagi: In an unfortunate incident, a 20-year-old engineering student died on the spot after her speeding bike collided with shepherd's bicycle in Karnataka's Kalaburagi on Friday.

Police said that the girl bled to death after the sickle which was tied to the shepherd's cycle hit her neck.

The deceased has been identified as Megha, a resident of Karunaeshwara Colony. She was in her second year of computer science engineering from a private college.

She was going to Naganahalli, when her over-speeding bike lost control and she rammed into the shepherd's bicycle.

Soon after the accident, the locals rushed to the spot and found her lying in a pool of blood.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead.

Immediately after the accident, the shepherd fled from the spot leaving his bicycle and sheep, police said.

Police is further investigating into the matter.
