Haveri (Karnataka):As Pongal approaches, the Hori Habba (bull taming) bulls of Karnataka village are becoming famous as many of real-life people.
Arjun 155, a bull of Byadagi taluk of the Haveri who is participating in the game has a heavy fan following.
This Hori Habba bull in Byadagi taluk is the angriest among all and was brought from Tamilnadu for Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand this year.
Meanwhile, Fakiresh, an artist from the Byadagi taluk expressed his delight after painting an image of Arjun.
He said, "I am a fan of Arjun 155 and have painted the bull's image on several walls in this area. Later I got a lot of opportunities to draw images. As Arjun has become so famous for his ability in Hori Habba game, he will get many prizes this year."
"Arjun 155 performs various workouts, including regular swimming and running. Arjuna's strength is maintained by special food items. Arjun 155 has already made its mark in the Shimoga, Davangere, Gadag and Dharwad districts, including Haveri. He secured prizes in four competitions and we are hopeful for this year also," Fakiresh said.
Notably, Hori Habba, also known as bull taming competition is a rural sport in which hundreds of trained and decorated draught cattle and bulls are made to run through huge crowds catchers try to subdue the cattle and snatch away prizes such as copra, cash, gift items tied to them.
