Bengaluru: The Karnataka state government has decided to re-open colleges from November 17. The decision was taken by the state government at a meeting on Friday chaired by Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa.
The Minister for Higher Education, Dr Aswaththa Narayana informed media persons that Degree, Engineering and Diploma colleges will resume from the announced date. But there is no compulsion for students to physically be present in colleges.
"We have provided the chance to attend college physically as well as online classes. Students can attend college whichever way they want to. Students who desire to attend the class directly have to take the permission of their parents, and a letter from either mother or father is mandatory for students to attend college, Ashwath Narayan added.
