CM Bommai to file nomination today; Nadda, Sudeep to attend

Electioneering picked up in Karnataka as Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is taking out a huge road show featuring J P Nadda, Kateel, Prahlad Joshi and Kichcha Sudeep to make his filing of second nomination a show of strength vis a vis the challenges thrown by Congress. Bommai already filed his first nomination for the Shiggaon constituency on April 15 as it was an auspicious day.

Haveri (Karnataka) : Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai symbolically submitted his first nomination for the Shiggaon constituency on April 15 as it was an auspicious day. Today, Bommai will file a second nomination by taking out a grand road show. BJP national president JP Nadda, BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP Prahlad Joshi, and minister BC Patil will take part. A special attraction in this road show will be actor Kichcha Sudeep, who has already announced to campaign for the Chief Minister.

The roadshow has been planned as a show of strength and it will start from Kittoor Rani Chennamma Circle in Shiggaon to cover about 2 km through the main streets of the city via Old Bus Stand. Later, CM Bommai will file nomination papers. After the submission of nomination papers by the CM, the roadshow will be concluded at the Taluka Stadium and a convention will be held at the grounds. Various leaders including Nadda, Kateel, Sudeep and CM Bommai will address the conference.

CM who submitted nomination papers symbolically: Bommai submitted nomination papers symbolically on April 15 in Shiggaon of Haveri district. At this time, M P Shivkumar Udasi, Minister C C Patil, senior BJP leaders of the Shiggaon constituency and family members accompanied CM Bommai. Speaking after submitting the nomination papers, the CM said at that time that there is more support in the constituency than before. The people of the constituency have seen the development of the taluk and have received unprecedented support.

Kichcha Sudeep to part in rally

Sudeep had already held a media conference and expressed his support for CM Bommai in this election and said that he would campaign for him. He will officially start the campaign for CM Bommai by participating in the procession that will be held today during the submission of nomination papers.

Rivals are creating a situation in which Bommai will face a tough challenge. The opposition has made a strategy that CM Bommai should be tied up with a tough election in his own seat. On his part, CM Bommai is taking extra precautionary measures. He is using actor Sudeep for campaigning in the constituency. Jagdish Shettar, the influential leader of the party's district, has left BJP and joined the Congress. To fill this gap, CM Bommai may ask actor Sudeep to campaign for BJP in Shettar's constituency as well.
