Karnataka entrepreneur develop hand sanitizer from Areca nut

A man in Shimoga has developed a hand sanitizer from areca nut which contains 70 per cent of alcohol. The sanitiser is prepared from gallic acid and tannin of areca nut.

Shimoga (Karnataka):Two young entrepreneurs hailing from Shimoga district of Karnataka has developed a hand sanitizer from Areca nut. Nivedhan, the young entrepreneur has prepared the sanitizer with the help of antimicrobial of areca nut and it does not have any side effects.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Nivedhan said, "Due to coronavirus pandemic lakhs of people are unemployed and industries are facing financial problems. Thus, I am ready to distribute the formula of areca sanitizer if they want to produce it. I want to help society this way. "

The sanitizer also includes gallic acid and tannin of areca nut. This naturally prepared sanitizer consists of 70 per cent alcohol which does not include any synthetic.

Meanwhile, orange oil is used to add fragrance to the sanitizer. Earlier, Nivedhan had developed air perfume and juice from areca nuts.

"The sanitiser is of good quality and its ingredients are not harmful to the body. The sample has been sent to AYUSH department for approval. If it gets approved, it can be sent to market, "Nivedhan said.

Hand sanitizers are in huge demand amid COVID-19 pandemic.
