Karnataka: COVID-19 infected man with kin walks to CM's residence for help

A man from Karnataka infected with the coronavirus walked to CM's residence with his family members after hospitals refused to treat him. He was later helped by the cops and shifted to KC General Hospital. Further, his family has not yet been tested for coronavirus.

Bengaluru: A coronavirus infected man from Bengaluru walked to the chief minister's residence with his family after several hospitals denied him treatment citing non-availability of bed in their isolation wards, police said on Friday.

According to reports, the man tested positive for coronavirus and had been looking for a hospital to get himself admitted. However, many hospitals refused admission to him.

After being tired of pleading hospitals, the coronavirus positive man decided to walk to the chief minister's residence in order to take help from him. His wife and two children accompanied him; police said, his family has not yet been tested for novel coronavirus.

According to sources, police pitched in to provide help to the ailing man. He was further shifted to KC General Hospital in the city.

Amid a spike in a number of cases across the nation, the non-availability of beds has become one of the major issues various states are dealing with.

On the other hand, Karnataka on Friday recorded a total of 30,661 active coronavirus cases, however, 1032 fatalities have been reported so far.
