K'taka couple tie knot via video call amid lockdown

Without breaking COVID-19 rules, a Karnataka couple tied the knot amid lockdown through a video call. The virtual ‘Nikah’ ceremony took place on Monday with a limited number of people.

Dharwad:Respecting norms of COVID-19, a couple entered into a married life through a video call in Karnataka on Monday.

Imran, a youth from Dharwad district and Tajama Begum of Koppal district were the couple who entered into married life over a video call in the presence of the limited number of people.

Imran said that "The date of the marriage was fixed before the lockdown and was scheduled to be held on Monday, but the grand ceremony couldn't take place amid the COVID-19 pandemic."

"After discussing with both sides of our family we decided to perform marriage in a simple manner following the lockdown rules through the video call," he added.

Hence, the 'Nikah' was performed through video call.

"Once the lockdown is over, we will bring our daughter-in-law to our home", Groom's family informed.
