Karwar (Karnataka): The INS Kadamba, Seabird of Karwar, is likely to establish the Industry in the city, which can be more effective in reducing unemployment problem in Uttara Kannada district as well as in the state.
The second phase of expansion of the country's prestigious Kadamba navy base is underway, and it will become the largest naval base in Asia after completion of the work. The second phase of expansion will also include a shipyard to facilitate the repair of warships. The officials have already set up 70 acres of land in Mudageri village of the taluk to produce the spare parts of the warships.
According to the District Collector, the agreement has been made by guaranteeing to provide the priority to locals in employment when the Industry is established. Thereby, it creates more employment opportunities in the taluk and the district.
In the district of Uttara Kannada, the INS Kadamba, Kaiga nuclear power plant, and other small sectors have been established and working for many years, although there is a dearth of more such good industries. Due to the scarcity of industries, many Uttara Kannada people are heading towards the neighbouring state of Goa in search of Jobs. However, now the People of the district are feeling happy as they expect employment opportunities from the INS Kadamba.
