India's largest COVID care centre with 10,100 beds to be operational in Bengaluru soon

India's largest COVID care with 10,100 beds facility will be soon operational at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) on Tumakuru Road. The patients will be handled by 150 doctors and arrangements of entertainment and sports are included in the centre.

Bengaluru (Karnataka):Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases, a 10,100-bed coronavirus care centre, the biggest in the country, is going to be operational soon in Bengaluru.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner Anil Kumar on Monday visited the coronavirus care centre at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre along with Yelahanka BJP MLA S R Vishwanath and reviewed the facilities at the centre.

According to the reports, the centre is well ventilated, has an adequate number of toilets, nursing stations, kitchens and other required facilities. As many as 150 doctors will man the centre.

In addition, there will be adequate arrangements to shift the critically-ill patients to nearby hospitals, said BBMP Commissioner to ETV Bharat here.

He also informed that the centre will also allow the patients to entertain themselves by watching televisions, reading books and playing indoor games such as Caram Board and Chess.

According to the Union Health Ministry, Karnataka has recorded 38,843 cases of COVID-19 to date.
