Bengaluru (Karnataka):The Bengaluru Urban Traffic Police collected Rs 21.43 crore in fines in just seven days - from September 13 to September 19.
Taking into account the increasing number of traffic violations, the traffic police registered a total of 48,141 cases and collected Rs 21,43,80,000 in fines during the seven-day period.
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the traffic police was utilising technology to register cases. Traffic challans were issued online for offenders who were caught on cameras.
