Import of Kerala poultry banned in Dakshina Kannada

Dr Rajendra has informed the officials at the Dakshina Kannada District Secretariat about the spread of bird flu and instructed that vehicles transporting poultry products should be sanitized at the state level border.

Mangalore (Dakshina Kannada): Dakshina Kannada Collector Dr Rajendra has instructed the authorities to restrict the transportation of all kinds of poultry products from Kerala to the district.

The announcement comes in the wake of the spread of bird flu in Kerala.

Dr Rajendra has informed the officials at the Dakshina Kannada District Secretariat about the spread of bird flu and instructed that vehicles transporting poultry products should be sanitized at the state level border.

He pointed out that the public should be aware of the bird flu and take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of it.

He also informed the authorities that the bird flu has been confirmed in chicken ducks in the Kottayam and Alappuzha districts of Kerala and therefore precautionary measures should be taken.
