Koppal: A farmer in Karanataka's Koppal has started using his modified motorcycle as a farm cultivator because he could not afford a pair of oxen to do the job.

Mahantesh started thinking of innovative ways to get the weeds out without the use of oxen.

The farmer attached two rakes to his motorcycle and started removing weeds in his farm as he slowing rode through the thin foot space.

Mahantesh, who wanted a pair of oxen to plough and clean his fields in the traditional way, neither could afford nor find any ox in the market

Not only did he find the crude invention successful, but it also proved to be very pocket friendly.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Mahantesh said, "To remove the weed in one acre of land using an ox, it costs up to Rs 1200, but with the bike, I use just two litres of petrol for clearing weed on two acres."

He added, the motorcycle driven device uses less time.
