Bengaluru: Dasara holidays is expected to relieve the tourism sector, which was hit by Covid-19. Lockdown and travel restrictions did not spare the sector well this year also. However, there are signs of respite after the inoculation drive against Covid-19 picked up the pace.
Travelling turned out to be the resort for professionals who have been working from home for long. Rishab Mallapur, a biker said that since the pandemic outbreak, travelling to other states and some districts had restrictions. But after easing guidelines travellers can now plan their vacations easily.
Hotel and resort owners also heave a sigh of relief after their businesses showed signs of recovery. They have been offering a spree of discounts for accommodations. "This year we are hopeful of good business. For more than a year, the travel business hit an all-time low. But due to massive vaccination and people's realisation to live with COVID has brought awareness within people about safety. As travel business owners, we make sure that all our staff including our drivers are fully vaccinated and COVID has also taught us lessons of cleanliness," said Karnataka state travels owners association president Radhakrishna Holla.
