Drug racket busted in Kannada film industry

A drug trafficking racket was busted by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Kannada film industry after it seized 145 MDMA and 180 LSD pills and over two crores of Cannabis from a hotel apartment in Karnataka.

Bengaluru: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Thursday busted a drug trafficking racket in the state of Karnataka, wherein celebrities from Kannada film industry have also been involved, an official said.

The key accused has been identified as Anika who supplied drugs to the film stars and famous singers in the industry.The NCB team seized 145 MDMA and 180 LSD pills and over two crores of Cannabis from Royal Suites hotel apartment, Kalyan Nagar.

"After interrogation, the main accused revealed that she supplied drugs to the Sandalwood stars and also revealed that many famous stars and celebrities were her customers," a cop said.

Reportedly, Anika acted in many films and serials in Kannada film industry and continued her expanded her drug-supplying racket.

Sources say, more persons are likely to be arrested in this connection by the NCB Bengaluru unit, and currently, the main accused in being interrogated by NCB.
