Dharwad (Karnataka):Around five people have died and many are feared trapped after an under-construction building at Karnataka’s Dharwad district collapsed on Tuesday.
The collapse took place in Dharwad’s Kumareshwar Nagar area.
43 people have been admitted to the Civil hospital, while 13 people have been referred to KIMS and SDM hospital.
Speaking to media on building collapse, Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad district Deepa Cholan said, “Two people are dead, 28 people are rescued and receiving treatment at Civil Hospital. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team have reached the site of building collapse. Oxygen and water were given to seven people buried in debris. Rescue operations to continue at night.”
