Bengaluru (Karnataka): During Sira bye-elections, Mr. Gowda camped in the Constituency for one week and toured extensively in the taluk. After the bye-elections, Mr. Gowda rarely attended public and party functions. His party has lost both the bye-elections and also Council polls. The defeat of the party in Sira bye polls naturally upset him and did not attend party functions thereafter.

Recently JD(S) has organized an introspection meeting at JP Bhavan party office for its defeat in the bye polls, however, Mr. Gowda has maintained distance by not attending the meeting. Usually, Mr. Gowda never misses any party functions or meetings, but his decision of not attending an introspection meeting is something fishy.

Involved himself in reading

Covid 19 has not yet been contained in the state, thus Mr. Devegowda has not come out from his Padmanabhanagara residence. Since many years he used to do morning yoga and daily exercise, nowadays he is regularly doing yoga and assisting his wife Chennamma in performing pooja at home. Also watching mythological serials and reading books. Mr. Gowda has a very vast knowledge of politics, is busy with reading ‘A PROMISED LAND’ penned by former President of Barak Obama. He also reads Shivapurana, Srirama Katha Manjari and Dattareya. Besides, Mr. Gowda is reading books related to history. He spends nearly three to four hours reading. The 87 years old former Prime Minister is keeping himself active. The first Kannadiga Prime Minister, Mr. Gowda has founded a regional party in the state and has rich political knowledge. At this advanced age, he wants to learn new things.

Whether he took a break from politics or not, but he always thinks about his party and its future. He used to give advice to the party workers to strengthen the party and expand its base. After a short break, he will involve in party activities say sources close to him.
