Bengaluru (Karnataka):The much-awaited actor Kichcha Sudeep starrer Kannada movie 'Kotigobba 3', set to release today, has been postponed to Friday due to technical issues. The delay disappointed the fans who booked their first-day shows. Notably this is the first big-budget movie to be released after theatres are allowed to function with their full capacity in Karnataka after the second wave of COVID19.
Fans across the state who gathered in front of the theaters early in the morning started to create ruckus after the movie could not hit the screen. In Vijayapura, fans throw stones at Dream Land theatre in the city and broke the glasses of the theatre. Fans staged protest in front of Krishna Theater in Kollegal of Chamarajanagara district. Fans expressed outrage in front of theatres in Bengaluru, Shimoga, Hubli, Dharwad and Belgaum and other parts of the state by shouting slogans.
Following the ruckus, Kichcha Sudeep took to Twitter and posted a letter on his account. He wrote, "It's my duty to inform all those at the theatre already, that there is a delay in shows due to certain issues. I personally apologize for this negligence from the concerned. I request all not to react badly at the theatres as they have nothing to do with this. This is a rare situation and I am sure a lil patience from all will be my greatest strength. I too was equally excited to bring forth a film on screen after such a long gap. Will tweet soon on the show timings once I have better clarity on it. Until that I request not to harm to any properties (theatres)".
