Cow Slaughter Prohibition act will be implemented in Karnataka from January 18

Karnataka Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act will be implemented in the state from January 18 onwards, said Minister Prabhu Chouhan.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): Minister Prabhu Chouhan has said that Karnataka Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act will be implemented in the state from January 18th onwards.

The Act will be fully implemented in the state and the process of formulating the rules is almost complete and will be released soon. Regulations for the transportation of cattle will soon be formulated and enforced. The minister appealed to the farmers through a press release that the farmers in the state and those who transport cattle for agricultural purposes should not be confused for any reason.

The Police Department has been asked to work hand in hand with the NGO and Animal Welfare Board, which is involved in the protection of the cows, and to take action at all levels. The minister also said that the police department and the animal husbandry department should be closely monitoring illegal trafficking of cows and slaughter.

The public is asked to notify the nearest police station or the district or taluk jurisdiction department if the public sees any illegal cattle trafficking and slaughter. The minister said that the public should not take the law in hand under any circumstances. The minister has warned that if the authorities fail to take action, they will be prosecuted.

In the wake of the ban on cow slaughter, there is a need for cow protection and preservation. Discussions will take place and goshalas (cow sheds) will be constructed, he said.
