Bangalore (Karnataka):A complaint has been lodged against historian writer Ramachandra Guha by a saint of the Arya Idiga community in Karnataka on Sunday. It was alleged that Guha has written outrageous remarks against the spiritual leader and social reformer Narayan Guru, in his book 'India After Gandhi'.

The case has been registered in the Upparpet police station of Karnataka demanding a ban on Guha's book.

The saint in his complaint said, "We demand the immediate arrest of historian Ramachandra Guha and legal action be initiated against him for his derogatory remarks against the revered saint of our Arya Idiga community."

"Guha described Narayan Guru as the leader of a community, that is on the verge of extinction. The book which was published in 2007 describes the Arya Idiga community below the leading castes. This has hurt the sentiments of the community and we demand a ban on the book," he added.

In which the social and political diversities of different regions and the story of India's existence are described with references. The book covers many topics including Partition and the problem of refugees, the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, the existence of separate states, the process of general elections and the challenges of the southern states.
