Bengaluru:The campaigning for Karnataka assembly polls ended on Monday at 6 pm. However, the candidates can do canvassing visiting the doorsteps of households. Thus, the 40-day campaigning carried out by different political parties was completed today. On the other hand, a door-to-door campaign will be conducted from Monday evening to Tuesday evening till 6 pm. On the final day of the campaigning, contestants made a whirlwind tour of their respective constituencies, appealing to people to cast their votes.
Holding public meetings and open campaigning was prohibited 48 hours before the commencement of the poll. The poll officials will ensure strict adherence to the model code of conduct by the candidates belonging to different political parties. The gathering of more than five persons has been restricted after coming into force prohibitory order under Section 144. But, the door-to-door campaign will be allowed within 48 hours.
