Bengaluru:KarnatakaBJP Vice President BY Vijayendra, who has been elected as an MLA from Shikaripura Assembly Constituency in Shimoga District, entered Vidhansauda on Tuesday for the first time. Vijayendra sought blessings of his father and former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa before attending the assembly proceedings.
After the declaration of the results of the 2023 assembly elections, the three-day assembly session has started from Monday. The swearing-in of the new MLAs took place. The new speaker will be elected on Wednesday. Vijayendra, who was elected Shikaripura MLA took his oath on the day. Before arriving at Vidhana Soudha in the morning, he took the blessings of father BSY at his home.

Vijayendra himself tweeted about this, "For the first time after being elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly, before going to the assembly session today, the blessings of my father, former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and brother MP B Y Raghavendra were received. His blessings are a great strength for me to work as the voice of the people of the country and Shikaripur Constituency. He also shared photos with his family on his Twitter account.
He further tweeted, "Today, I was sworn in as an assembly member in the name of the deity of our Shikaripura assembly constituency, Shri Huchcharayaswamy. I have the important responsibility of carrying the chariot of development of our constituency from the building of duty.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met Vijayendra as the BJP leader entered the Vidhana Soudha and exchanged pleasantries. The two leaders also shook hands and talked. Congress MLA UT Khader, who was with the CM, shook hands with Vijayendra and spoke. Later, Minister KH Muniappa, MLAs Lakshmi Hebbalkar and Tanveer Seth met the Congress MLAs and congratulated each other.
