Bengaluru (Karnataka):We live in a patriarchal society where most rituals are performed by a male priest but contrary to that, women priests perform puja at Maramma temple in Karnataka's Koramangala city.
The Maramma temple is 90-year-old and women priests have been performing puja here for the last 50 years. Puja is offered twice a day in this temple.
According to sources, the temple attracts a number of devotees every day. They have this perception that their lives will prosper if they offer puja to the deity.
