Bengaluru: The moonwalk video that hit social media on Monday has become an example of how social media can become a tool for bringing about change.
The creator of the video- Bengaluru-based 3-D street artist Baadal Nanjundaswamy had shown actor Poornachandra Mysore dressed as an astronaut walking on crater-laden(meant to simulate the surface of the moon) Tunganagar Main Road in the city.
In the minute-long video, the actor could be seen carefully walking on the road, as if he is moonwalking on the lunar surface. It is only after the video is zoomed out, that one can see the pothole-ridden Bengaluru street.
The 'moonwalk' video, inspired by the Chandrayaan-2, has brought the focus back on the public installations of Nanjundaswamy street art. In fact, this time, his artwork has attained a reward for Bengaluru city.
After the video went viral, and it began gaining the attention of various authorities, after which the repair work on the road has been started by the City Municipal Corporation.
