Dakshina Kannada (Karnataka):When the whole country was facing the ravaging second wave of Covid-19, Elaneeru, a little village in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, has remained untouched by Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic last year.
Elaneeru is located in Belthangadi taluk, home to 136 families and more than 600 residents. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the village has not reported a single case of Covid-19.
Panchayat Development Officer, Gayatri P. said, "The village has been able to achieve this because the residents here adhere to the regulations of Covid-19 and the residents only leave their homes in emergency situations.
