Aditya Rao who kept a bomb in Mangalore International airport has surrendered to Halasuru gate police station. Presently Medical examination of accused Aditya Rao is under the process in St Martha Hospital.

After the medical check-up police will take him to an unknown place for the inquiry related to the bomb in Mangaluru airport. After the inquiry, police will present him to the court and later he will be under the police custody, sources revealed.

Background Of Aditya Rao: 

Aditya Rao is an engineering graduate, born and brought up in Udupi. After graduation, Aditya suffered to find a decent job.

Aditya's father is a retired bank manager and his mother recently passed away due to cancer.

A few years back, Aditya shifted to Bengaluru in search of a job. Frustrated with the situation, he threatened to plant a bomb at the Vidhana Soudha.

Ten days back, Aditya had joined a private hotel.

He bought white powder online to prepare the explosive.

Mangaluru police have accelerated their investigation, Presently, they are probing the owner and staff of the hotel where Aditya worked.

Accused in Mangaluru bomb scare surrenders before police

Bengaluru:Mangaluru airport bomb suspect was arrested here when he walked into the Karnataka's Director General of Police (DGP) office in the city centre, police said on Wednesday.

"Aditya Rao, the prime suspect in placing an improvised explosive device (IED) or bomb at the Mangaluru international airport on Monday, was arrested after he surrendered at the DGP office," a police official told a media agency.

The port city of Mangaluru is about 360km from Bengaluru on the west coast in the southern state.

"Rao will be taken to the state-run Victoria Hospital for a check-up and then will be produced before a local court for his custody and investigation into the case," the official said.

On Monday, an extensive search operation began with the help of bomb disposal and dog squads and metal detectors.

"The CISF had found a suspicious bag, handled it as per the safety protocols and quickly informed the police control room. We have placed the bag in the isolation bay as per the safety protocol," Harsha later said in a video message. 

According to some reports, two persons had come in an autorickshaw and placed the bag there. Police said they are verifying the CCTV footage. 

Commissioner of Police in Mangaluru, PS Harsha had said three teams were formed for "identification and apprehension of the accused."
